“The shot with the hibiscus has a little story. My father, who has been
gone a long time now, planted that hibiscus some forty-five years ago,
in his home in New York, and I only recently transplanted it here, in
Virginia, now that my mother, at age ninety-four, is leaving that home
where she spent so many years with my father and moving to Florida.
