Alicia Upano received the James Jones First Novel Fellowship and was the fiction winner of the Poets & Writers Maureen Egan Writers Exchange Award. Born and raised in Hawai‘i, she has lived in Asia and on both continental coasts of the United States. She lives on O‘ahu with her family.
