Joni Tevis is the author of The World Is on Fire: Scrap, Treasure, and Songs of Apocalypse. Her essays have appeared in Orion, Oxford American, and the Pushcart Prize anthology. An associate professor, she serves as the Bennette E. Geer Professor of Literature at Furman University. She is currently writing a book of nonfiction about music, destruction, and iconic American landscapes.
