M. O. Walsh was born and raised in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana. His work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Oxford American, EPOCH,
and numerous anthologies. He teaches at the University of New Orleans, where he
is the director of the Creative Writing Workshop. His first novel, My Sunshine Away, excerpted in this issue, is due out in
February from Putnam.
