Paula Köhlmeier (1982–2003) was an Austrian writer of stories, screenplays, and novels. In 2002 she received the Literary Fellowship of the State of Vorarlberg. In summer 2003 she died tragically in a hiking accident. Her story herein is one of forty-seven stories in her collection, Maramba, published posthumously.
