Tomas Tranströmer (1931–2015) was a Swedish
poet who was acclaimed as one of the most important European writers since
World War II. He was awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize in Literature, and his poetry
has been translated into over sixty languages. He died in 2015 at the age of
eighty-three.
